Latest FGR Midalu 2500 V6 Review

The design of the FGR 2500 V6 dates back to 2004 when Miroslav Felgr, Owner, decided to design the bike with the highest capacity in the world. Of course, we all know very well that in America are on sale for years of custom mammoth driven by motors Chevrolet Small Block, But in fact nobody had ever designed an engine from scratch specifically for this cube a motorcycle. The engine was designed and built three years ago and the first prototype arrived shortly after. The funds for this project were provided by Ministry of Industry and Trade Czech Republic has launched a competition for designers to become part of the bike which saw 45 young engineers, which concluded winner Stanislav Hanus.

The layout chosen by the FGR for Midalu is to build a six-cylinder V 90 degrees with the front bench that is declared to be tilted 10 degrees from horizontal. We seem much more than 10 °, because a layout with “Ducati like” this engine would have a footprint longitudinal crazy. In itself, we are faced with a “bomb” mechanical impressive (270 kg stated) with a bore and stroke measurements of 90.0 x 66.0 mm for a total displacement of 2,442 cc, DOHC camshaft driven chain and liquid cooling. The maximum speed is limited to 8,500 rpm, which are many as 240 horses provided by the Czech six-cylinder. Scary as the maximum torque indicated in more than 200 Nm.

The chassis provides a Trellis frame steel rear frame with carbon fiber and components of quality: the fork and Ohlins shock, OZ forged wheels, Brembo brakes and a beautiful swing alloy billet. The FGR said they had tested the prototype of Midalu to fund through 2010 and is now looking for an investor to industrialization and, if there are potential buyers, the small-scale production.
